Does Wonderworks consider whether or not I can afford tuition? 
All admissions decisions are made on a need-blind basis – we don’t take into account whether you can or cannot afford the tuition; we’re just looking for the very best students, period.

If I am admitted to Wonderworks and cannot afford tuition, will I receive a need-based scholarship?
Yes — we have always made sure that any student who is admitted and demonstrates financial need receives a scholarship in the form of a full-tuition waiver.

Does Wonderworks award merit scholarships?
No. Our scholarships are provided on a need-only basis. 

Are Wonderworks’s need-based scholarships available to students outside Texas?
Unfortunately, no.

May I apply to more than one Wonderworks program? 
You should apply only for the program that interests you most; if you qualify for admission, we will offer you a place in that program.

Does Wonderworks provide college credit? 
No. Our programs are meant to be enrichment courses and are ungraded so that students are able to explore subjects that are new to them or outside their comfort zones at a college or near-college level. 

May I participate in Wonderworks for a second or third year?
Yes. 

If I have just graduated from high school, can I still apply for Wonderworks? 
Yes. Wonderworks develops skills that will be of help to you as a college student. 

Are ACT or SAT scores acceptable?
Yes. 

Does the tuition for the From the Ground Up program include supplies and equipment?
Yes. 

Is transportation provided to and from Wonderworks each day? 
No, but you may get a Metro card through your high school before the summer begins. 

Can I live on campus?
No. Wonderworks does not offer residential accommodations or supervision. Out-of-town students may stay with friends or relatives.

Are lunches provided?
No. You may purchase lunch at the Student Center (UH) or Brochstein Pavilion (Rice) or bring your own.

What if I need to be dropped off early or picked up late?
The Art and Architecture Library in the Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture and Design building (UH) which opens at 8 AM and closes at 5 PM; the Brochstein Pavilion (Rice) opens at 8 AM and closes at 6 PM. However, Wonderworks does not provide supervision in these places.

Does participation in Wonderworks qualify me for a Metro student pass?
Yes, but you must make arrangements through your school before the end of the spring semester.
